DECLARE YOUR PURPOSE

Today's Scripture

“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it, and he will.” [Psalm 37:5]

Today's Word

Today I am stepping across the line. I'm tired of waffling and I'm finished with wavering, I've made my choice, the verdict is in, and my decision is irrevocable. I'm going God's way. There's no turning back now!

I will live the rest of my life serving God's purposes with God's people on God's planet for God's glory. I will use my life to celebrate his presence, cultivate his character, participate in his family, demonstrate his love, and communicate his Word.

Since my past has been forgiven, and I have a purpose for living, and a home awaiting in heaven, I refuse to waste any more time or energy on shallow living, petty thinking, trivial talking, thoughtless doing, useless regretting, hurtful resenting, or faithless worrying. Instead I will magnify God, grow to maturity, serve in ministry, and fulfill my mission in the membership of his family.

Because this life is preparation for the next, I will value worship over wealth, "we" over "me," character over comfort, service over status, and people over possessions, position, and pleasures. I know what matters most, and I'll give it all I've got. I'll do the best I can with what I have for Jesus Christ today.

I won't be captivated by culture, manipulated by critics, motivated by praise, frustrated by problems, debilitated by temptation, or intimidated by the devil. I'll keep running my race with my eyes on the goal, not the sidelines or those running by me. When times get tough, and I get tired, I won't back up, back off, back down, back out, or backslide. I'll just keep moving forward by God's grace. I'm Spirit-led, purpose driven, and mission-focused, so I cannot be bought, I will not be compromised, and I shall not quit until I finish the race.

I'm a trophy of God's amazing grace, so I will be gracious to everyone, grateful for every day, and generous with everything God entrusts to me.

A Prayer for Today

To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I say, "However, whenever, wherever, and whatever you ask me to do, my answer in advance is yes! Wherever you lead and whatever the cost I’m ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway. Whatever it takes, Lord; whatever it takes! I want to be used by you in such a way, that on that final day I’ll hear you say, 'Well done, thou good and faithful one. Come on in, and let the eternal party begin!'" In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Discover your God-given gift

Today's Scripture

"...the whole body, closely joined and firmly knit together... when each part is working properly, grows to full maturity, building itself up in love." (Ephesians 4:16)

Today's Word

Did you know that God has blessed you with unique gifts and abilities to be used in the body of Christ? You may not know what those gifts are right now, or how you can use them in your local church, but God designed each of us to work together for the good of all. When we work together, the Bible tells us that it causes us to grow to full maturity and we are built up together in what matters most ~ Love. There are many wonderful opportunities to use your gifts and talents in your place of worship. Can you share a smile? Be an usher or greeter. Do you have a heart for children? Join the children's ministry. If you love to entertain, join a hospitality team or host a small support or study group. Play an instrument? Join the music ministry. Even if you're not sure where to be involved, God will help you find your unique place as you open your heart to serve.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, please help me to discover my unique spiritual gifts and talents and to use them to the best of my abilities. I know that when I serve the church, with the gifts I was born to use, I will experience the joy and fulfillment You created me to have like never before. In Jesus' name. Amen.

You're Beautiful

Today's Scripture

"I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself." (I Corinthians 4:3)

Today's Word

You were made to be all that God wanted you to be and there is an anointing [blessing] on you! The enemy may try to convince you that you have to conform to the opinions of others, but if you are secure in who God made you to be, you can resist those outside demands and pressures that try to mold you into something you were never meant to be. Remember, you’re you and you’re unique, filled with gifts, talents and special abilities.

Don't rely on the opinions and approval of other people, they have their own challenges. Don't let anyone steal your unique creativity and qualities. God made each of us with a different purpose in mind. As you continue to grow in your personal relationship with the Lord, through prayer, meditation, worship, and fellowship, you will gain more and more confidence that the Lord will free you from the opinions of man, and allow you to be exactly who God created and designed you to be! You’re you, God made, Spirit breathed, purpose driven and uniquely set-apart to be all God created you to be. Wow!

Now go and live the life God designed you to live with purpose, definition and exuberance. You were created to bring the beauty of the Lord to the entire world. And never allow anyone, including yourself, to mock what God has made so beautiful.

A Prayer for Today

God, I want to live for your approval alone and not the approval of others. I need to feel your strength when I feel tempted to change who I am to conform to this world. Please help me to remember that You love me just the way I am! In Jesus' name - Amen.

The Master's Plan

Today's Scripture

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11 - TLB)

Today's Word

Don't live your life condemned by the mistakes of your past, even yesterdays. The accuser will always tell you there is something wrong with you, because he twists the truth. Don't allow condemning voices to take root over God's promise. Feel good about yourself and believe Gods plan for your life. Don't internalize your guilt, but release it by accepting Gods favor over your life through His grace and mercy.

Don't dwell on the accusers lies, God has forgive you over and over again, and nothing you could ever do can keep God's love from you. You may have missed Plan A, but God has a Plan B, Plan C, Plan D and Plan E. You can never out sin His grace because He knew from the beginning of creation the plan He has for you and nothing will interfere with the Masters Plan. So, stop dwelling on the lies and start preparing for more of God's abundance in your life.

Remember: In you lives a Champion!

A Prayer for Today

Lord, Your grace and mercy are my joy and hope. Your Word is my encouragement and Your promise my faith. You are my source of everlasting life and my strength for today. To this I say, Glory to God in the highest, blessed be Your name forever! In Jesus name. Amen.

Surrender

Today's Scripture

“Then Jesus told him, "I have come into the world to give sight to those who are spiritually blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind." The Pharisees who were standing there asked, "Are you saying we are blind?" "If you were blind, you wouldn't be guilty," Jesus replied. "But your guilt remains because you claim to know what you are doing." [John 9:39-41]

Today's Word

It is common when a person is drowning that the victim does not always cooperate with their rescuer. Often, in an attempt to save them self, the victim fights the very one sent to save their life.

Like the person drowning, there are times you may find yourself struggling physically, psychologically or spiritually and unknowingly, in a moment of panic, you attack those trying their very best to help you.

Professional rescuers are taught there are times you just have to let the person go down before you can pull them up.

God knows when you have had enough. He may even allow you to go down further, in order to save you in the end. The more you struggle with your Savior [rescuer], not trusting him, the longer the rescue is going to take.

When a person has a “spirit-of-control”, [ego] which emanates from fear, there is little that can be done to help them at that moment. Once [ego] is surrendered, through trust, they can begin to live a new life in the fullness of the Creators design.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, sometimes I do not realize I am struggling and fighting against those You have sent to help me. As Your Son Jesus completely trusted you, even to the Cross, give me the strength to surrender my all and all to You. In Jesus name. Amen.

One Act of Kindness

Today's Scripture

"And I will answer, 'When you refused to help the least of these my brothers, you were refusing help to me.’” [Matthew 25:45]

Today's Word

Today is going to be part of an incredible journey for you. Someone has been waiting all their life for just one act of kindness. God spoke you into existence to deliver that act for Him. Remember, you’re His hands, His smile, His passion and His heart. Bring someone your smile today, a word of encouragement, buy someone lunch or a cup of coffee, bring someone flowers or hope as you deliver just one act of kindness.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. In Jesus name. Amen. ~ Prayer of St. Francis

Reconnect

Today's Scripture

"Yes, I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in me and I in him shall produce a large crop of fruit. For apart from me you can't do a thing.” [John 15:5]

Today's Word

A power tool separated from its source is rendered powerless. God created you to be at one with Him. You are his instrument by which He moves and lives, His nature and Spirit lives within you. Like a power tool, when you are separated from your Source, you are rendered powerless.

Reconnect today, and watch what God does in you and through you. If you are challenged physically, psychologically or spiritually you need to “reconnect” to your Source of power [God] to overcome the tricks of the enemy who is constantly searching for ways to destroy those God loves, because he is envious of God’s favor on your life.

Once you are reconnected, God’s power flows through you, you become one in Spirit. What is His becomes yours. You become an extension of His Body and only blessings of abundant life will flow through you to others.

Remember: Where God is there is no sickness, poverty, pain, anger or suffering, there is only pure love, healing and restoration.

Reconnect today, and watch the power of God’s love and grace flow through you.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to reconnect to You. Give me a hunger for Your infilling of love, peace and joy and use me as an instrument to bless those you love so very much. In Jesus name. Amen.

See Yourself Succeeding

Today's Scripture

"In everything he did he had great success, because the Lord was with him." (1 Samuel 18:14)

Today's Word

One of our missionaries, Sister Jessica is a triathlete who competes in worldwide events called iron man competitions. The event consists of swimming, biking, and running. Competitors in the iron man must complete a 2.4 mile swim. Then, they must bike 112 miles. Finally, the competitor must run 26.2 miles to finish the event.

While preparing for this years iron man, Jessica was experiencing difficulty while trying to improve her technique for the swim. Her coach worked with her and explained exactly what she was going to have to do to improve her time in this part of the grueling event. She attempted to follow his instructions over and over again, but she was unable to master what the coach had instructed her.

Wisely, her coach called a halt to practice and suggested that she step back and practice the technique in her mind. She spent more than 30 minutes just looking at the water; again and again she imaged herself completing each stroke perfectly. When the coach finally called for her to try once again, she got into the water confidently and succeeded on her first attempt.

One explanation is that scientists have discovered that muscle memory can be created not only by performing a physical act, but also by visualizing yourself doing it. The same is true in the spiritual realm. If there is an area of life where you are struggling–your marriage, your health, your finances–wherever you may be having difficulty, I encourage you to see yourself succeeding. Once you begin to look at life through your eyes of faith, your actual physical existence will come in line with what you see.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, I will envision myself as healthy and whole because that is the way You see me. I will retrain my mind to think positive thoughts of victory and abundance and I will see myself succeeding in everything I do. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Give Peace A Chance

Today's Scripture

Pile your troubles on GOD's shoulders — he'll carry your load, he'll help you out.
[Psalm 55:22]

Today's Word

When you're at peace, you are in a position of power! When you go through adversities, the enemy fully expects you to get upset, lose your joy, complain, and host your own "pity party." He's devised a plan to keep you in an attitude of defeat. When you choose to obey God's Word and refuse to get upset, you break the forces of darkness and defeat the enemy in your life. Jesus said in John 14:27, "I'm leaving you My peace. I'm giving it unto you." The Amplified version says, "Now stop allowing yourself to be agitated and disturbed. And do not permit yourselves to become unsettled." God has done His part to give you His peace. As a child of God, His peace is on the inside of you right now. You've got to do your part and make the decision to live in peace. When negative circumstances arise, and you make the choice to stay calm and live in peace, you are showing that you have faith and trust in God. Today, choose to keep peace in your life. When you cast your burdens on Him, He promises to sustain you–that's a place of true peace, a place of lasting power!

A Prayer for Today

God, I know that You are in control, I know that You're going to see me through; I trust You. I know that no weapon formed against me is going to prosper. Today, I will focus on the peace inside of me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What A Journey

Today's Scripture

"I knew you before you were formed within your mother's womb;” [Jeremiah 1:5 – TLB]

Today's Word

You don’t remember do you? God saw you even before you were in your mother’s womb the Bible says. You succeeded in conquering an incredible battle. The fact is, you journeyed for generations from Adam right on up through your grandfathers to your father, and at God’s chosen hour you defeated millions, against all odds, and were planted in “fertile” ground to continue your growth for your mission here on earth. Wow!

The Word of God says, “For I know the plans I have for you, they are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” [Jeremiah 29:11].

You are not an accident by no means. Your life has a profound purpose on earth and only your Creator knows exactly what that purpose is. When you think about just how far He has taken you, how much you have overcome and how blessed you have been, only then can you realize that God is not done with you yet. You were never created to fail or to be destroyed, you were not created to perish but to live forever with God. From the very beginning you have been constantly changing and maturing, formed for God’s pleasure each phase of the journey. Now, from the comfort of the amniotic fluid to your “earth-suit” you have been assigned to the next phase of your purpose and God will see you through until the next phase.

When you think about it, your life really is in God’s hands, every area of your existence. So why not trust your entire life to Him. After all, He alone created and designed you for His purpose and God makes no mistakes. If you thought being in Adam was the end, you were wrong. If you thought being with your great, great, great, great grandfather was the end, you were wrong. If you thought any phase of being in the womb was the end, you were wrong, and if you think being on earth is the end, you are wrong again. Eternal-Life means FOREVER!

Seek Gods’ will for your life. You are unique, like no other and have an incredible future ahead of you. Many nations will come through you and Gods’ will shall be fulfilled through you. Don’t worry about life, don’t worry about wealth, don’t worry about health and don’t worry about death. Believe, like Jesus before you, and you will be taken care of for eternity. That is Gods’ personal promise. Now go and live the life God alone has given you to live, filled with purpose, discovering, love and expectancy.

Reminder: “I am with you always.” [Matthew 28:20]

Lord, You alone are my salvation, You alone are my refuge, You alone are my hope, my promise and my joy. It is in You alone that I find my being. I give myself to You alone. In Jesus name. Amen.

Are You Prospering?

Today's Scripture

“I pray for good fortune in everything you do, and for your good health—that your everyday affairs prosper, as well as your soul!” [1 John 1:2 – Msg]

Today's Word

Can you imagine that the God who created all there is, the galaxies and planets, the cosmos, the hemisphere and the atmosphere, the inhabitants, the vegetation, all life form, the past, present, future and the heavens is interested in the smallest details of your life? It’s almost unimaginable, but the Bible tells us it is absolutely true. As you begin to discover God more and more [through a personal relationship with Him, and through the study of His Word], you will ultimately find that whatever God created, He created it to prosper, and that includes you. Set aside some quiet time and look into your health, your finances, your relationships, your thoughts and dreams, fears, faith, purpose and commitments and see just how prosperous you really are. If there is any area of your life where you are not prospering and enjoying God's best, then perhaps their is something “blocking your blessing” and you need to hand it over to God. Some areas in your life may need some special attention and weeding out. Remember: God wants the very best for you in every area of your life. You’re His creation, His design, His masterpiece and His very own child.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, give me the strength I need today to clean out any area of my life in which I am not prospering. If there is anything you find in me needing change help me to recognize it. Then, give me the power and the anointing to make those changes according to Your plans and design for my life. In Jesus name. Amen.

Three Simple Words To Change Any Life

Today's Scripture

“Yes, Lord, let your constant love surround us, for our hopes are in you alone.” [Psalm 33:22 – TLB]

Today's Word

During a twenty-two hour flight some years ago on my way to speak in several dozen churches over a six week period, I occupied my time by preparing various messages I planned on sharing with the congregations I would soon be meeting. Many of the messages in my briefcase were papers I had written while still studying with the International Seminary. Amongst the dozens of sermons and thousands of words in my possession were topics like: “Dispensations of Angels”, “The Outpouring of The Holy Spirit”, “Spiritual Warfare”, and “More Than a Carpenter”. Each sermon had taken me hours of study, research and preparation. The entire flight was occupied with getting my messages in order. When we finally landed in [what seemed like a ride to the moon] Manila, I was walking through the airport and I heard a small inner voice say to me, “Throw away the sermons.” I thought to myself, “What? Are you kidding? Do you know how long they took me to write? That’s good stuff!” Once again, I heard, “Throw the sermons away.” As I walked for what seemed forever I thought, “Lord, what will I tell them?” And within me that little voice responded, “Tell them I love them!” Right there, I dashed into a men’s room, locked myself in a stall and began to cry, because I felt the love of God pouring into me that I might pour it out onto others. Feeling a bit weary and reluctant, I found a garbage pale and threw away all of the papers I had carried that day. As I traveled through village after village, prison after prison and hospital after hospital, I told everyone I was privileged and blessed to meet, “God loves you, no matter who you are, no matter who you think you are, no matter what you have done, no matter what you have, believe or think. God loves you deeply, and He sent me all of this way to tell you this “Good-News””. Thousands of men, women and children received the “Good-News” that year, and their lives were changed forever. Through opening their hearts many developed a new focus on life, new meaning and new moral values. They began to hear something they were not use to hearing, a personal invitation to receive God’s love. Marriages and relationships were restored, many of the sick were healed and even “thugs” and “gang-members” from the streets began to change their lives. Now many of those very individuals are teachers, nurses, honest workers and one even became a pastor. All because of three simple words – God loves you! Wherever you are today, I have traveled almost sixty-years to tell you – God loves you!

A Prayer for Today

Lord, Your love is my security, my provision, my hope and my future. Thank you for loving me so much. In Jesus name. Amen.

Don’t Plant Tomatoes and Expect Bananas

Today's Scripture

"Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will reap a crop of my love;” (Hosea 10:12 – TLB)

Today's Word

Several years ago I was blessed and privileged to mission to a small village in one of the 7100 islands of the Philippines which had been devastated by a recent volcano. With me I carried various vegetable seeds which included tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, squash, carrots and melon. After cultivating, fertilizing and preparing the soul, villagers and I planted the seed. We watered it regularly, and fenced the area in to discourage any wild life or intruders from disrupting our work. From the very beginning of our sowing, we were excited and expecting a plentiful harvest from our labor. Each day we did our part knowing God would give the increase in His time – And so it was, at the right time, we had vegetables, vegetables and more vegetables.

One day a little child came to me and asked, “Where are the bananas?” Laughingly, I responded, “We didn’t plant bananas!”

Like planting corn and expecting bananas - we sometimes plant anger and expect happiness in return, we plant selfishness and expect generosity; we plant doubt and expect a positive outcome, never realizing we cannot yield what we do not plant. Learn to expect [with great excitement] a return on your sowing. When you sow love, you will reap love, when you sow forgiveness; you will reap forgiveness, and when you give you will receive.

Today, give God’s love to all you meet and expect Him to give you all you need.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, that I may reap a plentiful harvest, plant Your Spirit in me. In Jesus name. Amen.

A New Song

Today's Scripture

"Who of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?" (Matthew 6:27)

Today's Word

Worrying gives the devil the opportunity to move in your life in a very negative way, just like worship gives God the opportunity to move in your life in a very positive way. Worrying means that you have made the decision to entertain your enemy and play his lies like an old song, repeating it, over and over again in your mind. Each time you worry your enemy loves it, because you're singing his song - He is controlling you and that is exactly what he wants to do most of all, dance right into your life, take the lead and rob your peace, steal your promise and control your life.

But God teaches us yet another tune. In Isaiah 26:3 God has promised that He will keep us in perfect peace when we keep our minds stayed on Him. So when the opportunity to worry comes, use it as a reminder to "wake-up and worship" the Lord with a song of praise, thanking Him for what He is about to bring you through. Learn to cast all of your cares on the Lord, and change the way you're thinking.

Remember: God is not a liar. If He said He will take care of it, let Him take care of it.

No more songs of "Gloom and Doom". Start singing a song of joy, peace, promise, new beginnings and of a future and a hope. God has given you all the words you will ever need to transform your thoughts and actions and begin a new life.

A Prayer for Today

God, I am weary from worrying. Please help me to stop the soundtrack of needless worry that plays over and over again in my head. I want to place my fears and concerns in Your hands and live in peace knowing that You will fulfill all of your precious promises in my life. In Jesus' name - Amen.

Testimony or Testibologna?

Today's Scripture

“Don't let anyone think little of you because you are young. Be their ideal; let them follow the way you teach and live; be a pattern for them in your love, your faith, and your clean thoughts.” [1 Timothy 4:12 – TLB]

Today's Word

People are not going to change based on what they hear from you, but they certainly will be influenced based on what they see in you.

When God created you He filled you with all of His blessings, just as He did in Jesus. You were set in motion by His hand to influence others with His love. You are the only Bible many will ever read in their life time.

Knowing all of “the words” of Scripture, in all probability, will never win anyone to the love of God, but will, in fact, repel most. No one likes being preached at. Jesus himself demonstrated more than he spoke.

Each of us has someone watching our behavior, how we handle even the smallest matters of life. Every word from your mouth and every action is influencing those that God loves around you. God poured Himself into you so that others may come to know His great love for them no matter who they are or what they have done. You were created not to just memorize and repeat the “words” found in Scripture, but to become “God’s Word” in action. Mother Teresa once said, “Your life is your message to the world.”

As the Operations Manual is to every car owner, so the Bible is to every one created and designed of God. It’s the “Operations Manual” for life. Read your manual, then begin to operate [God’s vehicle] bringing others to know His great love for them as demonstrated through you.

Remember: You are the vehicle that carries God’s testimony to those around you. Proceed in a safe and responsible way. The rewards are heavenly.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for creating me to be Your vehicle to reach others with Your unfailing love. Strengthen me with Your Word that I may become a reflection of your loving kindness more and more each day. In Jesus name. Amen.

Remember What?

Today's Scripture

“Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn't want what it doesn't have. Love doesn't strut, doesn't have a swelled head, doesn't force itself on others, isn't always "me first," doesn't fly off the handle, doesn't keep score of the sins of others, doesn't revel when others grovel, takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, puts up with anything, trusts God always, always looks for the best, never looks back, but keeps going to the end.”
[1 Corinthians 13:4 – The Message]

Today's Word

Do you look for the bad in others? Some of us do, and have no idea we are doing it. Each time you remember the blemish or fault of another you are sending them a message that they are flawed, unworthy, unacceptable and less then what it takes to measure up to your standards. What you are doing is invalidating that person’s life and forgetting your own mistakes.

The Word of God was written to give us our origin, history, direction, instruction, warning, encouragement, hope, peace, joy, healing and promise. It was never written to harm, insult, discourage or invalidate those God has forgiven and loves. Even from the Cross, Jesus himself asked his Father to pardon or forgive those who just never knew what they were doing. They had no idea of the horrific act they had committed that day. They tried to invalidate the life God had put into action, His own beloved Son.

God has breathed His own breath of life into your being, without Him you do not exist. When someone tries to rob you of the joy God has given you, no matter how many mistakes you have made along the way, their action is not of God, it is a trick used of the enemy. You are growing, learning, maturing and developing character with every step you take, mistakes are allowed. Keep going, no matter what anyone says, and do not be dissuaded or discouraged by those who know you not, but be encouraged by God’s Word and of the One who does know you. God never tells anyone they are not good enough. He never tells anyone because of their past or present mistakes they cannot keep company with Him. He never brings up the past to discourage, invalidate or castrate. He simply says, “Come, and I will give you peace.”

Remember: If you are a believer, then you have the Spirit of God living within you. Therefore, do not be discouraged and do not discourage any one else, but be encouraged and encourage others (no matter who they are or what they have done), to be all that God created them and you to be.

Everyone who comes to God is acceptable, everyone who comes is loved, and everyone who comes - is forgiven.

It’s time to - Speak Words of Favor

Today's Scripture

"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." (Proverbs 18:21)

Today's Word

No one has more favor than a loving father’s child - and you are a child of the Father of all of creation. You are a child of God. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you have done, or who you think you are. God loves you! Your education, bank account, social status, profession, looks, race, gender, denomination, belief, who or what you know. Nothing changes your DNA; you are your Fathers child and the same blood that flowed through Jesus flows through you.
As a child of God, He has crowned you with glory and honor and wants you to have preferential treatment, just as you have given such treatment to those you love. He wants you to be favored in this life. And the more favor-minded you are, the more of God's favor you are going to see.

Begin to expect God's best for your life today. Declare that you are highly favored and beloved of the Lord. The Bible tells us that the power of life and death are in our tongue. Begin today to speak words of life over your family, your relationships, your finances, your job and those entrusted to your care. Your words have creative power, and when you speak those words of faith and victory, you are bringing them to life. Speak God's favor and blessing over every area of your life. Then, when God does something good for you, thank Him for it!

If you will do your part and live each day consistently declaring God's favor and expecting His goodness, God will do His part. He will make His face shine upon you and you will live the life of abundance that He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, thank You for blessing me today with your favor and your love. I pray out loud those blessings on me, my friends, and my family and believe in Your power. Thank you for the wonderful gift of Your love and strength and for all the blessings I enjoy today and everyday. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Dream Big

Today's Scripture

"Sow your seed in the morning, and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good." (Ecclesiastes 11:6)

Today's Word

Are you a dreamer? I am, but I’m also a "doer." If we are to accomplish God's best in our life, we have to be both. You need to dream big dreams and have what I call a vision of victory for your life, but you also have to put your faith into action, you can’t just sit back and wait for your blessing to fall from the clouds. The Bible tells us "faith without works is dead."

If you are believing for a promotion at work, then you need to be the hardest most diligent worker on the job. If your dream is to be debt-free, then you are going to have to be careful how you spend and manage your money. If you are believing for a better marriage relationship, then sometimes you will have to give up your need to be right.

In whatever area of life you need an extra helping of God's blessings, continue to sow those seeds of encouragement, hope, faithfulness and live a disciplined life filled with expectation. When you are faithful in doing what you know to be right, God will reward your diligence and you will reap an incredible harvest of victory.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to be more faithful in believing your promises for my life. In Jesus name. Amen.

What Is Success?

Today’s Scripture

“Wickedness never brings real success; only the godly have that.” (Proverbs 12:3 - TLB)

Today’s Word

Ralph Waldo Emerson, poet, philosopher, literary writer and pastor of The Second Church of Boston in 1832 wrote, “Success is to laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded.”

What Emerson expressed was his own purpose, almost profoundly describing the life of Christ. In discovering and expressing his own identity Emerson encouraged millions through his journey to exceed in their design, leaving others blessed in every way possible.

What will you write today of your success? If you haven’t already, begin living the successful life today leaving the world with a bit more light, love and liberty, knowing that through you God is touching the world.

Remember: You possess the DNA of God. It’s called love.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, help me to be more like you in my daily life of reaching others in ways that bless and honor Your name. Help me to mature to a level of success in Your eyes, bringing a smile to Your face. In Jesus name. Amen.

Look What's Ahead

Today’s Scripture

“This is the fresh, new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us by tearing the curtain-- his human body-- to let us into the holy presence of God.” (Hebrews 10:20 - TLB)

Today’s Word

Helen Keller wrote, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.”

Unlike non-believers, you have something no one can ever take from you, a future and a hope. You can walk right through heavens door because you have been given “The Key” to unlock the door to your eternity, and that key is your faith that God will keep His Word and give you all that He has promised. No matter what anyone ever says, tries to prove or disprove, no matter what ever may come against you, you have been given everything you will ever need to live forever in God’s Kingdom. When you accepted God’s promise, found in His Son Jesus Christ, your future was sealed and the door of heaven was unlocked for you to enter. As your journey advances into the next realm anticipate blessing heaped upon blessing and keep your eye focused on your glorious future.

Helen Keller, a deaf blind woman, thought never to become anything other than a burden of life traveled a very long and hard road to become a role model for millions of people, she lived her purpose, because she saw a door opened, not with her eyes, but through her eyes, eyes of faith.

Appreciate and learn from your past, but don’t neglect your future looking back.

A Prayer for Today

Lord, Thank you for “The Key” to my future, Jesus Christ. In Him, I am discovering all that You created and designed me to be, and I know that I have so much to look forward to because You have paved the way. I Jesus name. Amen.
