The Hearts Cry

Live Your Dreams

Today’s Scripture

“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4 – Amplified Bible)

Today’s Word

Do you know that you were not designed for stress, anger, worry or fear? That’s why we have such a difficult time coping with it. You were created and designed for joy, peace and love. Within the human heart lies a very special component (a spiritual homing device which can’t be seen, but it’s there) which longs for relationship with our Heavenly Father, much like a homing pigeon longs to return to its home when released. The human heart craves joy, peace and love but sometimes the flesh gets in the way in our attempt to achieve our quest. Often misguided stimulants such as liquor, drugs, tobacco, sex, and any host of mind and spirit altering agents are mistakenly used to try and achieve that gratification which the human heart so longs for, peace. In the final analysis, misguided mechanisms used to attempt and achieve peace and comfort ultimately end up bringing extreme opposition to your hearts cry. What does all that mean? Only a personal relationship with God (your Creator) can give you the joy, peace and love He designed you for. One of the reasons people cannot take stress, anger, worry or fear is very evident. You weren’t designed for it! If you really want to achieve your life’s purpose, seek your Heavenly Father more than you seek anything else, and His joy, His peace and His love will become yours in every area of your life. Learn to follow your heart, and not your flesh, and your heart’s desire will be fulfilled.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, show me the way, that I may walk with You! Help me to open my heart more and more as You fill it full of Your joy, Your peace and Your love. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

This Year

Today is the day!

Today’s Scripture

“How differently I feel now! When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!”
(2 Cor 5:16-17 TLB)

Today’s Word

Today can be the beginning of an incredible year for you. Make one resolution that you’re going to stick to no matter what. Just say, “This year I’m going to learn to trust God in every area of my life!” Then, live life full of expectation as you give, share, laugh, encourage others, forgive, understand and pray for those you know and those you do not know (someone you just past on the street). Learn to wish the best for others, to share in their joy and feel their pain, and above all else treat others the way God has treated you, with love, understanding and forgiveness over and over again. Do this, and you will have a great year that is filled with the joy that can only come from our Heavenly Father.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, it’s so liberating learning to live my life as you intended it to be. Trusting You frees me in such a way that I’m beginning to actually enjoy my life. Show me more Father, how to really live the life You created me for. As the eagles wings open to soar the heavens, open my heart that I might be lifted to where You want me to be. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

The Stone

There Are No Justified Resentments

Today’s Scripture

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). (Psalm 55:22 - The Amplified)

Today’s Word

Doctors say that excess weight is dangerous to your health and wellbeing, and it's been proven over and over again that carrying burdens can actually weigh you down, like carrying a large stone around your neck day in and day out. As you labor, carrying nonsensical burdens (those you cannot change), just like any other overload, it begins to affect your physical health and eventually your psychological and spiritual wellbeing. It has been proven scientifically; time and time again, that stress and worry are linked directly to certain cancers, pulmonary and cardiac diseases, stroke, High Blood Pressure, diabetes and the weakening of the body's immune system. You were not designed to carry excess weight or burdens, and that's why the psalmist writes, "Give your problems to God and He will take care of everything." Just say, "Lord I'm having a very difficult time carrying this load, therefore, I'm giving it all to You, You'll know what to do with it!" Then, begin to live as God intended, free from anything that holds you back from being all He created you to be. So friend, today make it your business to cooperate with God trusting that He knows His business. It's time to get rid of the stone!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, today I'm giving you any burden I have, which I alone cannot change, for I know You love me and will take care of all of my needs just as You always have. Thank You Father for Your patience as I continue to grow and mature more and more each day. In Jesus' Name - Amen.

Invest in your future

In The Time of Need, Sow A Seed

Today’s Scripture

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there will be food enough in my Temple; if you do, I will open up the windows of heaven for you and pour out a blessing so great you won't have room enough to take it in! "Try it! Let me prove it to you! Your crops will be large, for I will guard them from insects and plagues. Your grapes won't shrivel away before they ripen," says the Lord Almighty. "And all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land sparkling with happiness. These are the promises of the Lord Almighty.” (Malachi 3:10-12 – TLB)

Today’s Word

Do you know that when you plant seeds of goodness, kindness, forgiveness, gifts, talents and money you’re actually making deposits into your “Eternal Bank Account”?

God honors your intentions and generosity each time you sow in His likeness by faith. God is an incredible giver, and you were created in His image to mirror His likeness. You were saved to bring others to Christ through your time, talent, gifts and resources. For example, each time you “tithe” you’re not giving to the church or the pastor; you’re giving to the needs of the church to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The tithe is intended to pay the expenses of the ministry just as in any corporations operating expenses. When you give of your time and talent, you’re giving to the spreading of “The Gospel”, because others in some way are being administered the love of God. As you deposit into your “account” God is keeping a record of each transaction, and when you need the dividends the most, He releases with multiple and compounded interest. Twenty years down the road you may have a financial need and out of nowhere someone will bless you, that’s a dividend paid from your deposit years earlier. When you have favor found over you and it seems unexplainable, it’s a dividend paid from your deposit years earlier. If you haven’t already, become a depositor of your “Eternal Bank Account” today, and when you need it most, God will release dividends beyond your comprehension. You can count on that!

Today’s Scripture

Heavenly Father, today I’m putting You first, giving You my best, as did Abel before me. And as I do, I know that all of my needs will always be met. In sickness and in good times, when I’m up and when I’m down, I know that You will always meet my needs according to Your riches and glory. May all of the glory be given to You, for You alone are my Provider, my Sustainer and my Healer. Praise Your Name forever! In Jesus Name – Amen.

Look Around

Happiness is Your Choice

Today’s Scripture

May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers! Psalm 20:5 – TLB

Today’s Word

Many times we are tempted throughout our hectic week to complain about the various challenges we encounter, but if you will take a moment today and just look around at all God has done you will see that He has always been with you, He has taken you so far, beyond human comprehension. Truly God is with you every step of the way and He didn’t take you this far to abandon you now, so look around and be reminded of His supernatural presence in your life. David said, “Even when walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). David knew that no matter what he faced, even death, he was not going to be deterred or afraid, for he declared, “God is with me and He is protecting me all the way, even when I don’t understand it, He is there!”

Today, begin to develop a Davinic mentality and acknowledge God’s presence in your life, then proceed with whatever may come your way claiming, “Look at what God has done!”

A Scripture for Today

Heavenly Father, I am reminded of all You have done for me from before I was ever in my mother’s womb. While I may not understand all that’s going on, You do, and it is in You that I place my trust, my hope and my future, unto You I commend my Spirit, for it belongs to You. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

New Beginnings

Start Believing for More

Today’s Scripture

“For I'm going to do a brand new thing. See, I have already begun! Don't you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people to go home, and create rivers for them in the desert!” (Isaiah 43:19:20 – TLB)

Today’s Word

It’s already the first full week of the New Year. New goals, new resolutions, new relationships and new opportunities are surely on the horizon, it’s an exciting time in your life and God wants you to experience the fullness of all He has in store for you. This is the first week out of the starting gate, so be sure to include God in everything you do. Seek His counsel through spending time each day in His Word and in prayer. Let Him know that you care and are grateful that He cares about all that’s going on in your life. Learn to just say, “Thank you Father!” and then expect blessings, unexplained in the natural, to come your way as He responds to your willingness to trust and obey Him.

Remember as you begin this new week, “If God is for you, then who can ever be against you?” (Romans 8:31)

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, here we are ready to continue the journey You have called me to. I’m ready and willing to do whatever I must to accomplish Your will in my life this week. Use me, teach me, help me to grow and mature, and allow others to experience Your unfailing love through me. In Jesus’ Name I pray – Amen.

Begin the week out right

Never Take God for Granted

Today’s Scripture

“Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 -TLB

Today’s Word

So, what do you think God wants from you today? Maybe just a little time before you begin your busy week. Maybe He just wants you to get to know Him a little more than you do. Maybe God wants to reveal Himself to you in a way you never thought of before, in a way you’d probably think was impossible, but in reviewing His Word, it is written, “All things are possible” (Matthew 19:26 ). Visit your local Bible believing and Bible teaching church today and allow prayer, meditation and revelation of His Word to touch you as though your very life depended on it, because the fact is, it should.

Begin this week out right, by having God’s Word administered to you so that once you take your step into Monday, you’ll be ready to handle anything, knowing reassured that God is with you throughout your week.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, something in me longs to be nearer to You, but sometimes “religion” and “rituals” just get in the way. Help me to rise above all the hype and come to You on such a personal level that I am ministered to the way You want to reach me. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

Time to Rest

Rest is as important as Work

Today’s Scripture

And God blessed (spoke good of) the seventh day, set it apart as His own, and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all His work which He had created and done. Gen 2:3 - AMP

Today’s Word

Imagine, the first week of the New Year is over and most of us already need a rest. The Bible says, “God blessed the seventh day. He made it a Holy Day because on that day he rested from his work, all the creating God had done.” The week is now over, and it’s time to learn how God wants us to rest. Success is not just working, creating and discovering; it’s also understanding our design. God created and designed the human body for extraordinary accomplishments, but along with this blessing came a season to be still and let nothing distract you from being in the peace of His presence. Today, quiet your spirit, take a walk along the shore, spend time with your family or nestle up on the couch with a cup of tea and the “Good-Book” and be at rest, for tomorrow will come sooner than you think.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, it’s amazing to think about, You’re even concerned about my rest. Show me how to take a real rest to rejuvenate my body to be an instrument re-charged to accomplish Your will over the days to come. In Your presence there is peace, there is silence and there is tranquility, let them be mine as I draw closer and closer to You. In Jesus’ Name – Amen.

The Whisper

Keep an open heart

Today’s Scripture

"What I tell you now in the gloom, shout abroad when daybreak comes. What I whisper in your ears, proclaim from the housetops!” Matthew 10:27 – TLB

Today’s Word

It is in the whisper that you hear God the loudest. The gentleness of His grace rings forth unto the ears that are willing to listen. Do you have a desire to hear God? Ask Him, “Lord, speak to me, I am willing to listen to all of Your Words. Fill me with that which will nourish my soul and mature the spirit within me.” When you have the heartfelt desire to hear God, not for what you want, need or can achieve, but for who He is and for who He will reveal you are, then you can expect to hear the voice of God. When you spend time in His Word, it is there that will you hear “The Whisper”, it is on your knees seeking His fellowship that you will hear “The Whisper”, it is when you cry out for His direction and forgiveness that you will hear “The Whisper”, and it is in the moment of healing that you will hear “The Whisper” that say’s, “I am here”.

Shhhhhhh, do you hear “The Whisper” calling you today?

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I long to hear Your voice in all of its beauty, let it ring forth in my heart that I may forever be guided by Your instructions and leading. May I be healed by Your assurance, restored by Your Word and raised by Your call. Let Your voice be my guide throughout the day. I pray in the Name that is above all other names, Jesus’ – Amen.

Getting Started

Begin today believing with all of your heart

Today’s Scripture

The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. 17 It is God's way of making us well prepared at every point, fully equipped to do good to everyone. 2 Tim 3:16-17 - TLB

Today’s Word

The hardest part of moving forward with your life is taking the very first step, it’s like, “where do I begin?” The best place to begin is with the instructions, and those instructions are found only in the Word of God, our “Operations Manuel” for living. Only the Creator knows what His plans are for the created, and that’s you. As you familiarize yourself more and more each day with God’s intention and plan for your life, you will begin to discover things about you and God that otherwise you couldn't have possibly imagined. So, getting started in God’s Word is the first step.

Next, in order to keep moving in the right direction you must wake-up each new day leaving the past in the past and looking forward to a day of newness, discovery and opportunities. Look around you and see the possibilities for moving forward physically, psychologically and spiritually, then, begin to move in that direction. Maybe you need to lose a few pounds to become healthier or change your old thinking habits about others, yourself and God, or perhaps you’ve been feeling the need for something greater. These are all signs that God is working in you, He’s calling you to discover “Real” living as He intended you to. Getting started is easy when you take the first step, but it seems impossible when you just stay where you’re at.

Go ahead, take the challenge and begin reading Genesis 1:1 “In the Beginning” and get your new beginning today.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I’m feeling something different in my life, something far different than ever before. I sense Your presence, Your breath of newness and Your gentle whisper that calls me from my past. Help me to understand Your Word and to yearn Your instructions. For I commit myself to Your lead today and every day. To You I commit my life. In Jesus’ Name I pray – Amen.

You're Called

With God you cannot fail

Today’s Scripture

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isa 55:8-9 NIV

Today’s Word

There are times when others may not understand God’s call on your life (that is when He calls you to do something for Him). When God calls, He calls you to surrender your agenda and follow His. God knows what we are capable of and He knows that you can succeed in your calling if you will follow Him in all of your ways. You may not understand or know exactly what it is that God has called you to do yet, but when you are obedient to Him, everything just falls into place and in God’s time He will see your mission through to completion. So, don’t worry about what others may or may not think, but allow God to work in you and through you and you will succeed in your calling far beyond the understanding or expectations of others. Remember, His opinion is the only one that counts.

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, I know that You are with me, guarding and guiding me every step of this my journey as I draw closer and closer to You. Help me not to focus on what others may or may not think, but to focus on Your thoughts, knowing that You see far beyond all human understanding. I want to please you in all of my ways following Your plans for my life and succeeding in everything I put my hand to, bringing all of the glory to You. For Your love draws me closer and closer to my calling. In Jesus’ Name I pray – Amen.
